ACADEMICS

Hahnville High School focuses on the continuous improvement toward building a community of teaching and learning. Hahnville High School offers a variety of classes that can suit the student's interests and abilities. Hahnville school days are divided up into A/B days. They alternate each week with four class periods in a day. The class periods are ninety minutes long with an exception to late days. To graduate, a total of twenty-three credits are mandatory. The students are updated weekly with a progress report that is given to notify them about grade averages. The report cards are then issued out every nine weeks of the year to show their overall performance for the quarter. The classes worth a half credit can only have an excused absence for four days. The full credit classes can have an absence of eight days. As students enter Hahnville, they form a five year plan. This plan involves an area of concentration to which they want to pursue their career in. The guidance counselor and student discuss the areas that should be focused on, to ensure the student has the proper curriculum criteria required for their profession.
