Mrs. Heather Dahl

Welcome to my class.  This is my 21st year as a teacher and my 4th year at J. B. Martin Middle School.  I am looking forward to working with your children and getting to know them. I teach 6th grade Band and I help out with the 7th and 8th graders too.

I am a native of Houma, La and have lived in St. Charles parish for 23 years. I have two children. My daughter is a senior at USM in Forensic Science and Musical Theater.  My son is a freshman in Film school at UNO.  I also have a daughter that resides in Lafayette, LA with her two children.

I love to see the students achieve their goals and make music at their performances!  We try to perform on a regular basis. Therefore, we have one rehearsal each week to prepare.  These rehearsals are important and, hopefully, an exciting part of being in our band!  See the schedule below for rehearsal day assignments.

I hope everyone has a great year at the Best Middle School Ever!

    * All rehearsals are mandatory.  One excused/unexcused absence is allowed per performance preparation time. A written valid excuse must be presented to the director within 24 hours of the absence.  Any student that forgets their instrument should stay at the rehearsal regardless, in order to be given credit for being at rehearsal.

*More than one absence from rehearsals will mean the student will be dismissed from that performing group for the upcoming concert/event and will receive a "0" for their summative grade for that performance.  Only Extenuating circumstances will be considered.
