  • Certificates of Excellence

The Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International has awarded St. Charles Parish School Board its Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for having met or exceeded the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability. The district was recognized for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending 2021. Sponsored by VALIC, the Certificate of Excellence (COE) award confirms the school business office’s commitment to financial accountability and transparency.  Recognition through the COE program can help strengthen a district’s presentation for bond issuance statements and promotes high quality financial reporting.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the St. Charles Parish School Board for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

    Bond Rating

The School Board’s bonds are rated annually by both Moody’s Investment Service and Standard and Poor’s. The district’s current rating of AA by both rating agencies is one of the highest in the state of Louisiana.
