• The National Honor Society is a prestigious nation organization whose goal is to promote academic excellence and leadership among its members, and to provide service to our school and community. National Honor Society's membership consists of students who possess scholarship, character, leadership, and service to their community. Members are required to challenge their curriculum by taking 4 honors classes each year. A clear discipline record is mandatory, and members must undertake a leadership role. Most students choose to tutor in order to define that role. This allows them to receive service hours for the organization. A minimum of 50 service hours is required to maintain a membership in the organization and to graduate with recognition.

Those who would like to join NHS should speak with Mrs. Leigh Baltazar who is now the main sponsor of the club. Students who do not apply for NHS on their own, but who are eligible, will be invited to an NHS Induction that will be held in the spring of their junior year. At this ceremony, great friends, sponsors, past leaders and members of the club welcome new members to the NHS family.

We hope you will have the opportunity to become a part of the National Honors Society and wish you the best in the future.

Honor Scholars are students working toward the Academic Honors Diploma. They oversee plans for Winter Formal. They have an annual banquet every spring.
