    St. Charles Parish Public Schools will collect Pre-K applications from May 5-8, 2020.

    Applications and directions are below. Paper copies of the application will also be available on site. All required documentation must accompany an application to be considered for placement into one of the programs. Applications and documents must be submitted in person by the parent/legal guardian between 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM on the following dates:

    Carver Early Learning Center/Westbank (337 Gum Street, Hahnville)
    Last Names A-L: May 5
    Last Names M-Z: May 6

    Eastbank Head Start Center (13292 River Road, Destrehan)
    Last Names A-L: May 7
    Last Names M-Z: May 8

    Upon arrival at the site, someone will meet you at your vehicle’s window.  Please remain in your vehicle until you are directed to a designated tent. The student does not need to be present.

    St. Charles Parish Head Start and 4 Year Old Programs are accepting applications. Families must meet federal/state income guidelines. Applications can be picked up at both Head Start Program locations, all elementary schools, the School Board Office or downloaded from the website at the links below.

    ALL STUDENTS MUST BE 3 OR 4 YEARS OF AGE ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 30, 2020.

    The following information must be submitted with applications:

    1.       CHILD'S ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE

    2.       CUSTODY ARRANGEMENTS - SIGNED BY A JUDGE

    3.       CHILD'S SOCIAL SECURITY CARD

    4.       CHILD'S MEDICAID/INSURANCE CARD

    5.       CHILD'S IMMUNIZATION RECORD

    6.       PARENT'S OR GUARDIAN'S IDENTIFICATION

    7.       THREE (3) RECENT CHECK STUBS (COINCIDING THE CURRENT MONTH)/ EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION LETTER/ W-2 FORMS/ UNEMPLOYMENT/ VERIFICATION OF WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION (FOR EACH WORKING PARENT IN THE HOME)

    8.       FAMILY'S FOOD STAMP LETTER/ TANF

    9.       VERIFICATION OF ALIMONY OR CHILD SUPPORT

    10.     VERIFICATION OF SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS

    11.     DOCUMENTATION SHOWING CURRENT STATUS AS A RECIPIENT OF PUBLIC ASSISTANCE

    12.     PROOF OF RESIDENCY - A copy of two of the following utility bills in the parent's or guardian's name is needed: electric, gas, or water. Disconnect notices will not excepted. If the utility bills are not in your name, you will be required to get an appointment with the Child Welfare & Attendance Department to verify proof of residency. Please contact the Child Welfare & Attendance Department at (985) 785-6289 for an appointment.

    13.     COPY OF SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT OR VERIFICATION OF ENROLLMENT IN SCHOOL

    ALL INFORMATION MUST ACCOMPANY THE COMPLETED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION.

    Free transportation is provided for students four years of age and older.
