WELCOME TO THE SCHOEFFNER ELEMENTARY LIBRARY
Welcome to the ESE library! This is my 34th year teaching, and I have been the librarian at Schoeffner for 11 years. I am looking forward to a great year of teaching and learning. I will be teaching Library enrichment classes to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades this year.
I will incorporate Google Classroom with our district provided Chromebooks into my lessons. Google Classroom is a tool that allows me to post announcements and reminders for students. It also allows students to access the library catalog, databases, and games that will help them use the library efficiently.
To access Google Classroom please use the following link https://classroom.google.com/ and have your child log into their Google account. Once logged in, they will be able to access the Library Google Classroom.
The ESE School Library Media Center and its staff provide an environment which ensures that students and school personnel are engaged, effective users of ideas, information, and technology.
Library Information and Access
7:45 a.m.-2:55 p.m.
Students visit the library to learn library and information literacy skills. Students check books out when their class visits the library and on an "as needed" basis.
Students are allowed to check out two books at a time from the library. Books may be checked out for two weeks, and they may be renewed for an additional two weeks.
When books are overdue, no fines are assessed; however, students will not be able to check out further books until overdue books are returned or paid for.
When books are returned, they should be placed in the book return.
The library offers students computers with supervised access to educational software.
As a part of supervised Internet use, students have access to WorldBook Online and Infotrac databases. These databases may also be accessed at home by clicking on "Online Resources" on the library home page menu. Enter the username and password given to you by Mrs. Feaheny.
