St. Charles Parish Public School district personnel meet regularly to evaluate existing policies, practices, and procedures to determine their level of compliance and keep up with recognized best practices regarding safety and security. This review resulted in a recommendation for a bag protocol which will allow the district to provide the safest fan experience possible. The protocol is part of the new visitor management screening program. This proactive measure will enhance safety and contribute to an enjoyable fan experience.
Effective with the August 2017 high school football jamborees, fans will be able to carry the following:
- See-through bags of any size.
- Non-see-through bags no larger than 8 1/2" x 11".
- Small clutch bags with or without a handle or strap.
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: coolers, backpacks, duffle bags and any non-see-through bag larger than the permissible size.
Any persons with a bag that exceeds the specified requirements will not be allowed entry.
*An exception will be made for medically necessary bags or diaper bags which may be subject to inspection at the entrance gate. Working personnel, including media, will continue to enter facilities through designated gates where bags may be subject to inspection.
**All bags may be subject to search by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.**
