Dr. Tiffany D. Matthews

My name is Dr. Tiffany D. Matthews! It is with great pleasure that I have the privilege to serve as sixth grade counselor at J.B. Martin Middle School. I have been a professional school counselor in St. Charles parish for the past three years. Prior to coming to St. Charles Parish, I worked in Orleans Parish Public Charter Schools. Becoming a professional counselor has been my greatest professional achievement thus far. Counseling children and adolescents has always been in my heart. I believe in early intervention and, as a school counselor, I have the opportunity to service more youth in this capacity. It is truly my philosophy, that no child is to be left behind. As a professional school counselor, it is my duty to ensure each student receives support academically, socially and emotionally. I will continue to meet them where they are; one day and one step at a time! I will strive my best each day to give each student what they need!

In an effort to support students where they are, I provide individual counseling, group counseling and college and career readiness counseling. Classroom guidance lessons are also conducted throughout the school year on various topics.

I received my B.A in Psychology from Dillard University, an M.Ed in Counselor Education from the University of New Orleans and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Holy Cross. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and I hold certifications as a National Certified Counselor and National Certified School Counselor.

Please email me at ( or call me (985-758-7579) if you have any concerns about your student's academic, social/emotional, or personal well-being. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

I look forward to continuing to get to know each 6th grade student individually.

Best Regards.

Dr. Tiffany D. Matthews, PhD, LPC-S, NCC, NCSC
