  • Statements of Equal Educational Opportunities and Equal Opportunity Employment

    From St. Charles Parish School Board Policy 1.01 – Equal Educational Opportunities:

    It shall be the policy of the St. Charles Parish Public School Board that the school district shall place equal emphasis upon the nondiscriminatory provision of educational opportunities for children, and no person shall be denied the benefits of any educational program or activity on the basis of race, color, handicap, creed, national origin, age, religion or gender.  All programs offered by schools within the district shall be open to all students in compliance with statutory and judicial requirements.

    From St. Charles Parish School Board Policy 4.01 – Equal Opportunity Employment Policy:

    It shall be the policy of the St. Charles Parish School board that no person shall, on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion or veteran status be denied the benefits of, or be subject to, discrimination in regard to employment, retention, promotion, transfer, or dismissal in any educational program or activity under the jurisdiction of the Board.

    Appropriate personnel shall investigate all complaints alleged as being contrary to the Board’s policy stated above.

    From St. Charles Parish School Board Procedure 4.01R:

    The appropriate personnel as designated in the plans of action outlined below shall investigate all complaints as alleged as being contrary to the Board’s stated Equal Opportunity Employment policy.

          A. Employee’s complaints shall be handled according to Policy 4.18 or according to the plan outlined in the Personnel Evaluation Plan (PEP).

          B. Complaints from applicants for available positions shall be handled by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources & Administrative Services or a       designated staff member.
