Mrs. Angela Butler
I am excited to be part of Mimosa Park Elementary School. I am looking forward to working with our community as interim principal. As an educator for 23 years, I started my journey at Wolffarth Elementary School in Lubbock, Texas, as a Physical Education Teacher and Basketball Coach. In 2008, after teaching and coaching for nine years, I moved to Louisiana as a Teacher at Luling Elementary and Girl's Basketball Assistant Coach at Hahnville High School. I later transitioned to Destrehan High School to teach Algebra I and became the Girl's Basketball Head Coach. In 2014 I served as Staff Development Coordinator and won the Louisiana State 5A Girl's Basketball Championship in 2017. Since that time, I have served as Assistant Principal at St. Rose Elementary and J.B. Martin Middle Schools.
In 1996 I earned my Bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in Health Education. In 2004 I received my Post-back Certification in grades 4 - 8 general education from Texas Tech. My Mathematics certification came in 2008 for grades 6 - 12, followed by a Master's in Educational Leadership from Southeastern University in Hammond, Louisiana.
My husband, two sons, and I are proud residents of St. Charles Parish, with both children attending and graduating from St. Charles Parish Schools. We have grown to love this community and hope to remain here for many years to come.
As a leader, I strive to help staff and students meet their fullest potential inside and outside the classroom. I am thrilled to be part of the Mimosa Park Elementary family, and I'm looking forward to a fantastic year.
