Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
My name is Katie Orgeron and I am one of the counselors here at J.B. Martin Middle School. I am looking forward to the school year! The counseling program at J.B. Martin is designed to assist students in making the most of his or her educational experience. I earned my masters in education at the University of New Orleans and I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).
Some of the services provided by the counseling program at JBM include, but are not limited to:
•Individual and group counseling
•Career guidance (Individual Graduation Plans-IGPs, interest inventories, career games)
•Classroom guidance on various topics (bullying, respect, self-esteem, test anxiety, etc.)
Unfortunately, the JBM counseling department is unable to provide the following services to your child or to parents:
•Testifying in court for child-custody matters
•Intensive long-term counseling services. (We will, however, refer the child and parent to outside agencies where they may receive further assistance.)
I look forward to your child's participation in the school-counseling program this year. We are excited about working with you to help your child have a successful school experience. If you have any questions about any of the above information regarding J.B. Martin's counseling department or program, please feel free to call me anytime at (985)758-7579 or email me at email@example.com.
There are many areas to the website that we know you will find great value in. Our goal for this site is for parents and students to use it as a learning tool and resource.
