Mrs. Dixie Todaro
Welcome to my class. This is my 19th year teaching. I previously taught 6 years at Pittman Elementary in Jefferson Parish . This is my 13th year at Mimosa Park Elementary School. Seven of my years have been in third grade and the rest have been in second grade. I will teach your child all subjects: ELA Guidebooks, Core Knowledge, Math, Science and Social Studies. I believe in using cooperative learning strategies to help your child engage in the academic curriculum as well as the social curriculum.
April 20, 2020:
Good morning everyone. I hope you had an enjoyable Spring Break. I am sure this was different than any Spring Break we have ever had before. I would love to hear what you did over the break through the writing of a personal narrative. As most of you already know we will not be returning to school for the remainder of the year. This makes me sad and disappointed. However, I am hopeful this is not the end for us. Time will pass but we will forever be a part of each others life and hearts as Team Todaro 2019-2020. I do belive that we will come out stronger and with amny skills we would possibly not have learned in the classroom from creating chalk designs, reading and listening to good books, spending time with our families, appreciating the little things, brushing up on technology skills, and most of all a deeper appreciation for the little things especially hugs. ( Boy how I miss all of your hugs and smiles) . With that being said we will continue to remain in close contact through our facebook page, phone calls, and e mail. I am always here for all of you and together we will get through this. As you know Phase III learning will begin next week on April 27. This is a new experience for all of us. More than anything I wish I could hear their sweet voices to tell me how to work all this technology. I am thankful to have my own three children to help me ccreate and teach me.
If there is anything you need from me as we begin Phase III learning, please let me know. Next week April 20- April 24 , please check the class webpage for the weekly calendar that we used the week before the break. This week I will also be sending out information on Google Classroom we will be using for the reamins=der of the year. This will be crucial for you to log into and complete the assignments. I will send out n email with your log in information so please be sure to check your email for that to make this as smooth of a transition as possible.
In addition I will also be making phone calls this week to discuss with each one of you the 3rd quarter report cards and expectations as we move forward with the rest of the year. Please email me a day and a time that is best for me to call if you have a preference. You can view your child's report card through power school and e amil me any questions you may have. I look forward to speaking with each one of you. Please continue to respond with pictures and videos of your child through our facebook page. I truly love seeing them and hearing their voices.
Please stay connected and in touch.
I miss you all so very much and look forward to when we can be together again for a Team Todaro meeting.
Also don't forget to log into the Mystery Reader Facebook page for the faculty member to go live at 7:00. Sending love, hugs, and support to each family.
