Mr. Jason Madere

I am excited for another year at Destrehan High School to serve as your principal and to work alongside our dedicated and highly qualified staff, extraordinary students, supportive parents, and caring community.  As a product of St. Charles Parish Public Schools, a 1994  graduate of Destrehan High School, former science teacher, coach, and administrator, it is a true honor to be able to lead  DHS where “Tradition Never Graduates.”  I am fully committed to our faculty, staff, student body, families, community, and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.

The high school years are paramount in the development of our youth as they prepare for the next phase of their lives. During this journey, we want to make sure that all of our students are provided with the tools needed to be successful, the proper paths in which to take, and the support needed to accomplish all of their goals. My main objective is to ensure that every student is provided the highest quality of education possible in a safe and supportive learning environment.  Working together as a team with our staff and parents, I am committed to helping students achieve their very best and assure each student is “future ready.”  Every student is valued and worthy of our best effort. In order to accomplish this, we will continue to expect excellence every day and hold high expectations for our students, faculty, staff, and administration.

The DHS 2019-2020 school theme is “Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow.”  Please join us in learning all the skills necessary to be the leaders in all fields, professions and paths all “Fighting Wildcats” take. Together, we will fulfill our mission to help students continuously improve and become responsible, contributing members of society. We all will work daily to help our students reach their goal of graduation but, more importantly, be ready for life after graduation.
