Mr. Jason Madere

I am excited for another year at Destrehan High School to serve as your principal and to work alongside our dedicated and highly qualified staff, extraordinary students, supportive parents, and caring community.  As a product of St. Charles Parish Public Schools, a 1994  graduate of Destrehan High School, former science teacher, coach, and administrator, it is a true honor to be able to lead DHS where “Tradition Never Graduates.”  I am fully committed to our faculty, staff, student body, families, community, and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.

The high school years are paramount in the development of our youth as they prepare for the next phase of their lives. During this journey, we want to make sure that all of our students are provided with the tools needed to be successful, the proper paths in which to take, and the support needed to accomplish all of their goals. My main objective is to ensure that every student is provided the highest quality of education possible in a safe and supportive learning environment.  Working together as a team with our staff and parents, I am committed to helping students achieve their very best and assure each student is “future ready.”  Every student is valued and worthy of our best effort. In order to accomplish this, we will continue to expect excellence every day and hold high expectations for our students, faculty, staff, and administration.

As we move into the 2023-24 school year, I challenge all faculty, staff and students to take our school theme to heart and to MAKE YOUR MARK. As a Fighting Wildcat family and community, we want to continue to set our goals high, strive for excellence, and continue to take advantage of all the opportunities we are fortunate to have. As we all work together, we will fulfill our mission to help students continuously improve and become responsible, contributing members of society. To achieve our mission it takes everyone that walks the halls of Destrehan High School to make it happen. Let’s all work together to push each other to assure we have another successful school year.
