Enjoy your summer! Stay safe!

May 18, 2020- As this unprecedented school year comes to an end, please know Mrs. Sharon and I wish your family the best as your child moves on to Kindergarten. We will miss them and are extremely proud of all they accomplished this year. Please continue to use Lexia over the summer. I also suggest using Happy Numbers and/or ABC Mouse until the free subscription expires. In the packet you will receive at the Drive-By event on Wednesday May 20th, I included a blank Early Childhood Checklist that we used to help assess your child this year. Review the skills with your child during the summer. I also included a June and July monthly calendar of activities for you. It's always difficult to say goodbye to individual students you've watch grow into a group of close friends but the loss of precious school time makes saying this goodbye even harder. Thank you for your support this year and for sharing your child with us.

May 11, 2020- This will be the last week I will host Zoom meetings. Our meeting will be a class celebration. It would be great if everyone could participate. Girl's Zoom meeting will be Wednesday, May 13th at 11:00  and the Boy's will meet on Thursday, May 14th at 11:00. We are talking with Aministration about possibly doing a Drive-By End of School Event. We still need approval. Please continue to check your email for updates and informaion. See you on Zoom!

May 4, 2020- This week, I will host a Zoom session for girls on Wednesday, May 6th at 11:00 and on Thursday, May 7th for boys at 11:00. We will start by having students verbally share something with classmates. Then we will have a science experience that can also be used as a Mother's Day gift. Please check your email the day before your child's scheduled day and time for the link to join the meeting. Hope to see you on Zoom!

April 27, 2020- This week, I will try to have a Google Meet session on Wednesday April 29th at 11:00 for girls and on Thursday, April 30th at 11:00 for boys. This session will be very informal mostly letting students see each other and share something they have been doing at home. I will let students wave and say hello first then mute everyone except the person speaking. This way everyone will be able to hear what the speaker is saying. I anticipate the meeting to be about 20-30 minutes. Check your email for the link to join the meeting on your child's day and time.

During this time of school closures, please know that we miss your children. I am asking that you refer to the Early Childhood Checklist given at Parent Teacher Conferences in January to practice the skills listed. Also, weekly updates will be made to teacher webpages. Several websites have been made available for free: Lexia, ABC Mouse, Happy Numbers, BrainPOP Jr., Wilbooks, Scholastic Books, Kids National Geographic, Ready Rosie, and Teaching Strategies Gold. Links to these websites can be found on the Weekly At Home Learning Guide tab. I will be contacting parents weekly to check in and assist with any questions or conerns. Take care!

Welcome to my class.  This is my 31st year teaching and my 28th year at Norco Elementary School.  I am looking forward to working with you to provide the best school experience for your child this year.  I teach Pre-Kindergarten.
