Welcome To The Family Literacy Center
-
Families are invited to join other parents and children for activities, information and resources at the Title I Family Center. All programs and activities are free. The activities are supported by funds from the Title I program.
Parents may check out learning materials, books, and videos on a wide variety of parenting topics from the multi-media library. The library also contains a variety of resources to support student learning.
Family Literacy Playgroups
Playgroups are both learning and support opportunities for parents and a ‘social’ playtime for children ages birth to 5 years old. Playgroups for preschool children and their parents or caregivers are held weekly on Wednesdays from 10:00 till 11:00. We offer activities and programs designed to provide entertainment, enrichment, and learning for young children. The Title I Family Center has a playroom and playground that delights children of all ages. Children can play, learn, explore, and make friends in a comfortable family-centered setting.
Due to COVID-19, the Allemands Family Center is operating following the Stronger Start Family Guide. Please contact the Family Center 985-758-3523 with any questions or concerns.
Parent Workshops
We know that the educational system is ever changing. In order to continually support our children, the Family Center will sponsor various parent workshops, volunteer days and FACT (Family and Child Time) sessions throughout the year. Look for these workshops on our calendar.
