AN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
H.E.L.P.-Hahnville’s Educational Learning Program
HELP sessions offer homework help and tutoring in core classes, reinforcement of essential outcomes in core areas, ACT skills review and test practice, computer ACT practice, and LEAP tutoring and computer practice, and make-up tests and retests.
Students may attend a HELP session whenever needed. Teachers may assign students to HELP when their progress in a core area is less than satisfactory.
The HELP Tutoring will begin on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. HELP tutoring will take place Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm. Due to CDC guidelines, all HELP tutoring will be conducted virtually, with the exceptions of Business Tutoring on Tuesday, Make-up testing on Wednesdays and Thursdays and Spanish Tutoring on Thursdays.
For virtual tutoring, students will be asked to join a Google Classroom for the specific subject area. Google Classroom Codes are included on the 2020-2021 HELP schedule.
Students will join the Google Meet within the subject area Google Classroom to receive virtual tutoring.
Students who are scheduled for at home learning and would like to participate in virtual HELP tutoring are expected to login to the Google Meet at 2:30 pm.
Students who are scheduled for in person classes at Hahnville High School and would like to participate in virtual HELP tutoring are expected to login to the Google Meet at or by 3:30 pm.
All Help tutoring sessions end at 4:30 pm.
For in person sessions through HELP, Make-up testing and Spanish, students will need to fill out an in person tutoring request form.
Space in these HELP tutoring sessions is limited; therefore students must sign up early.
