My name is Melissa Schexnaydre. I am a Registered Nurse for St. Charles Parish Public Schools. I am currently in my 11th year of School Nursing. Before I became a School Nurse, I worked in the hospital setting for 17 years. I am the School Nurse assigned to Harry Hurst Middle School and Allemands Elementary. Please see below for my weekly schedule of school rotation:
Harry Hurst Middle School - Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Allemands Elementary - Tuesday and Thursday
Important Nurse's Notes for Parents:
*Immunizations: All students are required to receive state mandated vaccinations when they turn 11 years old. The required vaccinations
are the Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines. If your child is 11 years old and has not received these vaccines, please try to get them completed over the summer.
Bring an "Up to Date" Immunization Record to the school office or the School Nurse when your child has orientation for the 2019-2020 school year.
*Medications: If your child will need medication for the upcoming school year, please obtain a medication packet from the school office to be completed by you
and your child's doctor. The doctor's orders in the medication packet must be written by your child's doctor on or after July 1st 2020.
The new doctor's order with the Parent Authorization Form and your child's medication, labeled by the pharmacy, must be checked in by the School Nurse.
