    Week of 11/16 - 11/20

Finding our sense of routines again, we are back for a full week of school.  Students are beginning to relax about wearing masks properly.  Wearing masks is a schoolwide expectation for the safety of all people inside and outside of the school.  Please encourage your child to continue keeping masks over the nose throughout the school day.  We thank you for your support at home.  In addition to wearing masks, students should be responsible for bringing charged up chromebooks, headphones, sticky notes, and wrting utensils to each class.  Due to the pandemic restrictions, loaning these takes away time from learning and creates more work for everyone.

We are holding conferences in-person, with the format having some slight modifications from our past procedures in order to ensure the safest environment possible. This year, each student’s core teachers will all be together in a socially-distanced group, allowing the parent/guardian to meet with all of the teachers at the same time in the same conference. Conferences will last twelve minutes, and you will only need one time slot per student (since the teachers will be together).
The sign-up links below are for in-person conferences only. Families requesting a phone conference, or unable to schedule a time for an in-person conference, can email the teachers they’d like to conference with directly to set up a date and time for a phone conference.
Conferences may be scheduled by following the procedure detailed below:

        • The earliest that the first cars in line leave the campus is approximately 3:04
        • By 3:12 there is normally no line - Cars enter, pick up their student, and exit within 90 seconds
        • If you are willing to leave campus 8 minutes later (3:12 instead of 3:04) you can cut your wait time down from 30 minutes to a couple minutes by coming later in the window
      • Our Afternoon Dismissal Window on Early Release Days is 11:15-11:30
        • The same principles apply as mentioned above
        • Cars that entered the campus today at 11:27 exited campus with their student by 11:28
      • Our Morning Arrival Window is 8:00-8:15
        • The same principles apply in the morning that apply in the afternoon
        • In general, the later in the window you arrive, the less time you wait

    Week of 8/10-8/14

We are so excited to start our first full week of school together!  The Weekly Agenda will be an excellent resource for everyone.  Simply click on the teacher's name to the right of here, and it will direct you straight to that teacher's page of weekly agendas.  We hope this helps you start off this year strong with us!

This week, you will find on our webpages a message from each teacher introducing ourselves and our classrooms.  Please take time to view these video clips to learn more about us and the time your child will be spending with us.  Also, be on the lookout for text messages from your child's teachers.  We are using a new system called School Status to help each teacher stay in better communication with you.  Each teacher will have a different phone number.  Once you accept messages from School Status, you will learn which number is assigned for the teacher contacting you.  Feel free to call the school at 985-764-6367 or email teachers directly for any questions or concerns you have.  We are here for you and your child!

    Message from the school:

    Hurst Families:
