Bachelor's in Art and Science
Ms. Desiree Brunet
Welcome to my class. This is my 6th year of teaching and my 5th year at Hahnville High School. I am a 2017 graduate of Nicholls State University with a Bachelor's of Art and Science. I am looking forward to a great year of learning with your students as we explore exciting and challenging math concepts. I will teach Algebra II and Financial Literacy this year and tutoring will be offered after school to be determined at a later date.
We will be incorporating lots of activities through which students will learn essential skills and concepts tested on ACT for Algebra II and real world concepts for Financial Literacy. In addition to the supplies listed below, every student will receive Eureka Math modules (Algebra II) to be brought home and back to school daily. The modules contain all important information/practice problems relating to the lessons being taught. Financial Literacy students will be given a workbook with guided notes to be completed during the lessons. We will also be using Next Gen Personal Finance and Mathematics for Business and Personal Finance textbooks.
This year I will incorporate Google Classroom with our district providing Chromebooks. Google Classroom is a tool that allows me to post announcements and reminders for students. It also allows for class assignments and submissions to be posted and collected digitally.
To access Google Classroom, please have students accept the invitation I have sent for them to join their class. It is important that each student joins the class they are taking to receive important information and assignments.
Hi parents! I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Desiree Brunet and I will be your child’s Algebra 2 or Financial Literacy teacher for the 23-24 school year. You can find the Syllabus for both classes at the bottom of this page. You can learn more about what our class will look like this year. We know that this year is very different for us all and we want to make sure that your child has everything that they need to be successful and that you have everything that you need to support them. I am looking forward to what I truly believe will be a fantastic school year.
