Principal's Message

  • May 12, 2020

    Good evening parents and caregivers,

I hope this message finds you healthy and safe and excited about finishing up our Phase III learning this week. I know that classroom teachers and interventionists are busy wrapping up lessons and doing small group and individualized assessments, in order to give students every opportunity to show growth since we last saw students in person. Thanks to all our parents and caregivers who are working so hard at home to accommodate this while many are continuing to work full time jobs and/or run households with little ones. Your efforts will reap many benefits as students transition into the next school year. Please continue to have students working in ZEARN and Lexia throughout the summer in order to maximize learning potential during the summer months. You will need to log onto Lexia in early June to insure your child continues with the free subscription.

I hope you are enjoying our special Student Appreciation Week planned by PTO and the school. Be sure to post your pictures of students dressed in the fun themed outfits. Also, don’t forget to pick up your free kid’s meal from Mariano’s and snoball from Oak Lane Snoballs compliments of the PTO. The flyer sent out last week has the special hours and menu listed.

We do have a very special 2nd Grade recognition and “Goodbye” planned for our 2nd graders next week that will include some extra special treats and recognition. A flyer will be going out tomorrow with special instructions. We hope to see all our second graders there, especially since they will be leaving us in the fall to become Lakewood Gators!

Thank you again for all you have done to remain in close communication with your child’s teachers and to support your child at home. It truly has demonstrated the significant value of working together as a TEAM. Have a wonderful afternoon. Hope to see you all soon.
