Mrs. Sherry LaJaunie
Hello! My name is Sherry LaJaunie, and I am the "new" inclusion teacher for 5th grade at St. Rose Elementary. I am new to St. Rose but not new to education. I am a veteran teacher, and this is my 18th year of teaching. I have a bachelor's degree in history and English, as well as a Master's degree in Education. My experience has been in everything from resource/inclusion/self-contained to general education in grades K thorough 6th. I am very excited to be here at St. Rose and continue my adventures. Everyone has been very welcoming and helpful.
I have been married to my best friend, James, for 21 years as of November. I have three grown children and one granddaughter, Alice. Victoria is 29 and works for LSU Press, Andrew is 27 and works in the food industry, and Tony is 18 and is starting St. Joseph Seminary in Covington. My father was in the army, so I am an "army brat" and have traveled and lived outside the United States. I was born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Since then I have lived in Okinawa, Japan; Hawaii; Missouri; Souel, Korea; and then finally Louisiana. I have traveled to Europe and many Caribbean countries, including Mexico. I love traveling and my dream would be to live on the beach with access to the ocean.
