Mrs. Deanna Griffin

My name is Deanna Guarino Griffin. I am 23 years old. I am married to my best friend and we are pet parents to our wonderful pup, Joy-Lee. This is my first year at Luling Elementary School and my third year in St. Charles Parish Public Schools. I had a really tough childhood as I lost my father at the age of five. I had amazing teachers who made an everlasting impact on my growth. These teachers instilled confidence and perseverance in me. I have always had a love for teaching. I have always had a love for learning and for teaching. I have a true love for seeing children grasp new topics and for building meaningful relationships with students. As Maya Angelou once said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." My main goal this year is to make your geniuses feel smart, capable, excited, and driven to learn. I will make our classroom a place where your genius will love to be. I am a proud product of St. Charles Parish Public Schools and a graduate of Destrehan Highschool. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Southeastern Louisiana University. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner and I regularly engage in additional training so that I may meet the needs of my students. 

This year we will incorporate Google Classroom with our district-provided Chromebooks. Google Classroom is a tool that allows me to post announcements and reminders for students. It also allows for class assignments and submissions to be posted and collected digitally. To access Google Classroom please use the following link https://classroom.google.com/ and have your child log into their Google account. Once logged in, you can review class announcements, assignments and course information. You can also view Google Docs from the "Google Classroom" link on the left of the menu. 

I am so honored to have the opportunity to be your student's teacher and assist them in learning math and science. I cannot wait to see what great things we accomplish!
