Good Evening Parents/ Guardians!

I am Ms. Gauthier, and I will be teaching your child for English IV this year. I would like to invite you to review our class syllabus, which you will find at the top of my teacher page under 2020-2021 English IV Syllabus. It can also be found attached to this message on Google Classroom, as well as my First Day Google Slides Presentation that outlines our class expectations, policies, and procedures for this school year. I also wanted to inform you that there is a simple way to check what assignments your child has due this year. When they are logged in to Google Classroom, you can click on the three parallel lines at the top left of the screen, and you will see a list of your child’s classes as well as a To Do list of assignments that have not yet been completed. Important messages will be broadcasted through the Google Classroom Stream, and daily assignments can be found under the Classwork tab in Classroom. Please feel free to contact me at any time by email at bgauthier@stcharles.k12.la.us, or by calling the school during my planning period (2nd period: 9:00am-10:35am on regular days). During this challenging year, it is unfortunate that we were nor able to meet in person tonight, but I look forward to teaching your child this year, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

2020-2021 English IV Course Syllabus

Welcome to my English IV classes. This is my tenth year teaching and my seventh year teaching at Hahnville High School. I am looking forward to working with all of you. 

This year I will incorporate Google Classroom with our district provided Chromebooks. Google Classroom is a tool that allows me to post announcements and reminders for students. It also allows for class assignments and submissions to be posted and collected digitally.

To access Google Classroom please use the following link https://classroom.google.com/ and have your child log into their Google account. Once logged in, you can review class announcements, assignments, and course information. You can also view Google Docs from the "Google Classroom" link on the left side of the menu.
