Ms. Jeanne Nouri
Welcome, Angel Class of 2022,
I am looking forward to the new school year!
This is my 17th year at HHS teaching English III. Having spent a decade-and-a-half in the business world, I have been thrilled to continue to follow my dream of becoming a teacher. With a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master's of Arts in Teaching from Southeastern Louisiana University, my background allows for my Angels to be exposed to research-based instruciton with "real world" application.
I enjoyed being HHS's Teacher of the Year for 2013 and the English Department Chair from 2013-2016, but it is my angels that give me the motivation each and every day to continue to have high expectations because learning is the one gift that nobody can take from you! In addition, this is my 10th year serving as a member of the ACT Committee at HHS; I am also part of the after-school tutoring program H.E.L.P.
On a personal note, my passions are reading and traveling. I have currently visited 81 countries on six different continents, including The Great Barrier Reef, the Pryamids of Cairo, the Reefs of Indonesia, the Fjords of Norway, the Jungles of Columbia, and the Exotic Wildlife of Madagascar. In addition, I have visited all 50 U.S. states. I use both my reading and travel experiences to enrich the team-based nature of the lessons. The beauty of literature is that my Angels can be in California one day and in Italy the next day.
This year I will continue to incorporate Google Classroom with our district-provided Chromebook. Google Classroom is a tool that allows the teacher (me) to post announcements and reminders for my Angels. It will also allow for class assignments and submissions to be posted and collected digitally.
To access Google Classroom please use the following link: https://classroom.google.com/ Please have your child log into their Google account. Once logged in, you can review class announcements, assignments and course information. You can also view Google Docs from the "Google Classroom" link on the left side of the menu.
SPECIAL NOTE: I wish I could meet all of your parents for the Fall Open House, but I have listed some information below about supplies, class schedule, etc. In addition, I have attached a letter for your parents below (See English III Note to Parents).
Angels, if you could be so kind as to show your parents the letter and show your Google Classroom for English III it would be greatly appreciated.
