COVID-19 Summer Operations Protocol

COVID-19 Summer Operations Protocol 
(Including Summer Camps, BOOST Summer Program, Professional Learning Workshops, etc.)
 

Masks

  • Masks for employees, students and visitors are NOT required on school system campuses.
  • Masks are recommended for unvaccinated individuals.
  • Per the Governor's current executive order, masks are still required on school buses through the month of June. This is subject to change in the Governor’s next executive order.

Temperature Checks

  • Temperature checks will be performed on campuses until June 30th as required by the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE.) If temperature is 100.4 or greater, student/employee/visitor will be rechecked by staff and excluded if temperature remains 100.4 or greater.

Capacity - full capacity permitted
Lafon Performing Arts Center, Stadiums, Gyms, Cafeterias, Auditoriums

  • 100% occupancy with mask NOT required.
  • Masks are recommended for unvaccinated individuals.

Social Distancing (maintained to the maximum extent possible, not less than 6 feet for 15 minutes or greater over a 24 hour period).

  • Cohorts/pods:
    • If cohorts/pods are maintained, recommendation is 3 feet distance within the cohort/pod
    • When eating or drinking, distance is 6 feet to be maintained to the maximum extent possible (not less than 6 feet for 15 minutes or greater over a 24 hour period)
  • No cohort/pods:
    • 6 feet distance to be maintained at all times to the maximum extent possible (not less than 6 feet for 15 minutes or greater over a 24 hour period)

Contact Tracing

  • If positive for COVID, the positive person will be excluded for 10 days from symptom start date or positive test date
  • Close contacts (less than 6 feet for 15 minutes or greater within 24 hours) will be identified and excluded
  • Close contacts may test on day 5 and return on day 8 if negative and no symptoms, or remain out for 10 days, returning on day 11

COVID Reporting and On-Call Coverage

  • Coverage will be maintained throughout the summer by school system nurses Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-3:00 PM with these hours subject to change.
  • Only employees participating/working during summer operations and parents/guardians of students participating in summer activities being held on SCPPS campuses shall call the SCPPS COVID Hotline (985-785-4073) and utilize the CovidNurseTeam@stcharles.k12.la.us email to report any of the following:
    • positive COVID tests;
    • close contact to a positive person; or
    • compatible symptoms of COVID which may require testing or medical follow-up.
