School System Wins 18 National Communication Awards

The National School Public Relations Association has announced St. Charles Parish Public Schools as the recipient of 18 awards in its 2021 Publications and Digital Media Excellence Contest. Awards are given at three levels: Honorable Mention, Award of Merit, and Award of Excellence. 

The school system won the Award of Excellence (the highest award level) in the annual report, branding/image package (Students of the Year Drive-In), excellence in writing, and special purpose publication (Teachers of the Year Program) categories. Additionally, the district received the Award of Merit for the branding/image package (Future Ready), calendar, infographic, special purpose publication (InBox), and video categories.

 “’Open and honest communication and collaboration between school, home, and community build trust’ is one of the official beliefs of St. Charles Parish Public Schools,” commented Superintendent Dr. Ken Oertling. “The Public Information Department’s dedication to quality promotes two-way communication with our stakeholders, and these awards recognize that dedication.”  

Since 1935, the National School Public Relations Association has provided school communication training and services to school leaders throughout the United States, Canada, and the U.S. Department of Defense Dependents Schools worldwide. The association’s mission is to advance education through responsible communication.
