SCPPS Hosts Career & Technical Education Signing Ceremony

St. Charles Parish Public Schools hosted a Career & Technical Education (CTE) Letter of Intent Signing Ceremony at the Satellite Center on May 1, 2024, honoring the talents of our students and their commitment to career pathways. Under the visionary leadership of Ronny Seal, St. Charles Parish Public Schools’ Curriculum Specialist for School-to-Careers, this ceremony recognized students who have showcased their skills and garnered the attention of employers who offered the students internships, apprenticeships, or full-time career positions after graduation.

St. Charles Parish Public Schools' CTE program offers courses to high school students aligned with high-wage, high-demand careers such as engineering, patient care, carpentry, welding, electricity, drafting, computer programming, and robotics in addition to a wide variety of courses offered at the Satellite Center. Many of these courses provide students with opportunities to earn industry-based certifications or college credits.

“By providing CTE courses aligned to these workforce needs, we are providing opportunities for students to both explore and build a foundation that may prepare them for the workforce opportunities that will be available to them,” said Ronny Seal.

The CTE program collaborates with local businesses and industries, offering hands-on experiences and fostering connections between students and employers. Eligible students receive offers for internships, apprenticeships, or full-time positions, often through interactions with industry advisory boards, CTE teachers, or participation in job fairs.
